Comparisons and Categorizations
Daniel Sloss: This indoor venue, where I've seen GVF twice this month, was phenomenal. I've drawn comparisons with Freddie Mercury, Geddy Lee, Jimmy Page, etc., in trying to describe GVF to the unfamiliar. They are musicians and showmen in their own right with a very unique panache. If you don't go see a GVF show, it will be just as awful as having never seen Led Zeppelin, Rush, or Queen.
Houndmouth: Characterizing them as a country music act is also unfair. Talented musicians out there doing their own thing, and humble.
Robert Finley: He's the type of dude that men hope they age into and that ladies are intrigued by still. Robert's song says it all: Age Don't Mean a Thing.
Venue: John Paul Jones Arena is way above average. Plenty of helpful staff, acceptable acoustics for a 16,000 seat hall, and relatively reasonable food/drink prices - it's just located a little out of the way.
